OUR PROJECTS
Wildlife Forensic Toolkit Collaboration
(Nature FIRST)
After the success of the first Wildlife Forensic Toolkit Competition, the current edition takes things a step further by moving from competition to collaboration. Where the first phase focused on generating creative ideas and laying the groundwork for a basic toolkit, this next stage is about building on that foundation together.
Participants now work in small teams to develop practical modules that cover different aspects of wildlife forensics. These include topics like evidence collection and Postmortem interval (PMI) assessment. Each module adds something essential to the growing toolkit, making it more flexible and useful in a variety of real-world situations.
Wildlife Forensic Toolkit Competition (Nature FIRST)
The Wildlife Forensic Toolkit Competition marked the beginning of our journey toward building stronger connections between forensic science and wildlife protection. Launched as the first initiative before the current international collaboration, the competition aimed to bring together forensics students and field experts to develop practical tools for identifying, documenting, and analysing wildlife crime.
Participants were challenged to create innovative, field-ready solutions that could support real-world investigations.
